Payment & Booking Terms
Our payment system and booking policies for lesson blocks
Payment Terms & Schedule
For 10-Lesson Blocks
- Reminder text sent on lesson 7
- Payment due on lesson 8 to secure next block
- Not continuing? Gives us time to fill your space
For 5-Lesson Blocks
- Reminder text sent on lesson 3
- Payment due on lesson 4 to secure next block
- Standing orders available for automatic payments
Payment Methods
Absences & Make-up Lessons
Illness
If you are away due to illness, you do unfortunately lose your lesson.
Significant Injury
For significant injuries such as a broken bone, your lessons may be put on hold for up to 4 weeks with no charge. This is at the manager's discretion and can only be used once in a period of a year.
Holidays & Planned Absences
If you are going away (e.g., on holiday) and let us know in advance that you can't make the lesson, we give you a free fun swim to use at our Ploughcroft pool at specific bookable times.
Refund Policy
Refunds cannot be made once the booking has been made. However, at the manager's discretion, a credit system for future use may be offered.
Lesson Attendance & Requirements
Important information for attending your swimming lessons
Arrival & Check-in
Arrive 5-10 minutes before your lesson starts so you can be ready to enter the pool for your lesson time.
Halifax Only: You must give your child's name to the receptionist every time you attend lessons on entry for health and safety reasons.
Required Equipment
Children Over 3 Years
- Hat and goggles required for new children
- Our basic hat is cloth material and costs £7
- Basic goggles cost £7
- Purchase from reception (Halifax) or teacher (Rastrick)
Children Under 3 Years (Not Potty Trained)
- Swim nappy required
- Use reusable swim nappies - better for environment and cost-effective
- We sell reusable swim nappies if you need one
Changing Room Organization
Please hang up your belongings in one large bag or place into basket on the shelf in the changing rooms to help keep changing rooms clear and your belongings together.
This helps prevent items getting lost or left behind and ensures there is room for everyone to change.
Stay Connected
Please store our mobile number as we will store your number under your child's name. So, any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Child Protection & Photography Policy
Strict No Photography Policy
- Pictures or videos must not be taken for child protection/safeguarding reasons
- No phones are to be used in changing rooms, poolside, or viewing areas
- This policy protects all children and families using our facilities
Required Equipment

General Requirements

Year-Round Operation
Our lessons run all year round and throughout the school holidays and all bank holidays unless we inform you otherwise.
The only period we always close is the Christmas and New Year period.

Important legal information and terms of service
Liability & Insurance
Swimrite Swimming School carries public liability insurance. All lessons are conducted by qualified instructors following safety protocols. Parents/guardians attend at their own risk and are responsible for their children's safety outside of lesson time.
Data Protection
We collect and store personal information in accordance with UK data protection laws. Your information is used solely for lesson administration and safety purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Cancellation Policy
Pool closures due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., emergency maintenance, extreme weather) will result in rescheduled lessons where possible. We are not liable for travel costs or other expenses incurred.
Behaviour Policy
We maintain a positive, supportive environment for all swimmers. Disruptive behaviour that affects other children's learning or safety may result in removal from lessons. Full terms available upon request.
